Bradford M. Freeman

Prior to founding Freeman Spogli, Mr. Freeman was Managing Director of Dean Witter Reynolds Inc.'s Los Angeles Corporate Finance Department and a member of its Board of Directors. In addition, Mr. Freeman was responsible for Dean Witter's international corporate finance activities, headquartered in London, from 1975 to 1976.

Mr. Freeman earned a bachelor's degree with distinction from Stanford University in 1964 and a master's degree in business administration from Harvard University in 1966.

Mark J. Doran

Mr. Doran joined Freeman Spogli in 1988 and became a General Partner in 1998. Previously, he was a Corporate Finance Analyst in the High Yield Bond Department of Kidder, Peabody & Co. Incorporated.

Mr. Doran graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor's degree in economics and political science from Saint Michael's College in 1986.


Todd W. Halloran

Mr. Halloran joined Freeman Spogli in 1995 and became a General Partner in 1998. Previously, Mr. Halloran was a Vice President at Goldman, Sachs & Co. where he worked in the Mergers and Acquisitions Department and in the Principal Investment Area. From 1984 to 1988, Mr. Halloran served as a Financial Analyst at American Brands, Inc. and Manufacturers Hanover Trust Co.

Mr. Halloran is a 1984 Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Colby College where he majored in economics. He received his master's degree in business administration from Harvard University in 1990.


Jon D. Ralph

Mr. Ralph joined Freeman Spogli in 1989 and became a General Partner in 1998. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Ralph spent three years at Morgan Stanley & Co. Incorporated where he served as an Analyst in the Investment Banking Division.

Mr. Ralph received his bachelor's degree magna cum laude in 1986 from Amherst College where he majored in history.


John M. Roth

Mr. Roth joined Freeman Spogli in 1988 and became a General Partner in 1993. Prior to joining the firm, he served as a Vice President in the Mergers and Acquisitions Department of Kidder, Peabody & Co. Incorporated. From 1983 to 1984, Mr. Roth worked as a management consultant with McKinsey & Company, Inc. He was employed by Dean Witter Reynolds Inc. in the Investment Banking Division from 1980 to 1983.

Mr. Roth graduated summa cum laude from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania with a bachelor's degree in accounting, and earned his master's degree in business administration in finance from Wharton in 1980.


J. Frederick Simmons

Mr. Simmons joined Freeman Spogli in 1986 and became a General Partner in 1991. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Simmons was a Vice President in the Los Angeles office of Bankers Trust Company, specializing in lending to leveraged buyouts. From 1978 to 1984, Mr. Simmons held other key positions with Bankers Trust, which included responsibility for middle market lending in Southern California and serving in the Commercial Banking Group in New York City.

Mr. Simmons graduated cum laude with a bachelor's degree from Williams College in 1978 and received his master's degree in business administration from New York University in 1982.


William M. Wardlaw

Mr. Wardlaw joined Freeman Spogli in 1988 and became a General Partner in 1991. From 1984 to 1988, Mr. Wardlaw was Managing Partner in the Los Angeles law firm of Riordan & McKinzie. Prior to 1984, he served as a partner in the law firm of O'Melveny & Myers.

Mr. Wardlaw received his bachelor's degree with highest honors from Whittier College in 1968 and earned a juris doctor degree in 1972 from the University of California, Los Angeles.

Brad J. Brutocao

Mr. Brutocao joined Freeman Spogli in 1997. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Brutocao spent two years at Morgan Stanley & Co. Incorporated as an Analyst in the Mergers and Acquisitions and Corporate Finance departments.

Mr. Brutocao received his bachelor's degree magna cum laude in economics from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1995.


Benjamin D. Geiger

Mr. Geiger joined Freeman Spogli in 1998. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Geiger spent two years at Merrill Lynch & Co., Inc. where he served as an Analyst in the Mergers and Acquisitions Group.

Mr. Geiger received his bachelor's degree in economics with distinction from Cornell University in 1996, where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa.


John Hwang

Mr. Hwang joined Freeman Spogli in 2006. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Hwang spent three years at Citigroup Global Markets as an Analyst in the Financial Sponsors and Mergers & Acquisitions Groups.

Mr. Hwang received his bachelor's degree with honors in business economics from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2003.


Christian Johnson

Mr. Johnson joined Freeman Spogli in 2006. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Johnson spent three years at Wachovia Securities as an Analyst in the Leveraged Finance Group.

Mr. Johnson received his bachelor's degree in history from Colgate University in 2002, where he graduated with honors.


Mr. Parris joined Freeman Spogli in 2004. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Parris spent three years at Merrill Lynch as an Analyst in the Investment Banking Department.

Mr. Parris received his bachelor's degree summa cum laude in science and management from Claremont McKenna College in 2001, where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa.




Ms. Overbay joined Freeman Spogli in 2005. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Overbay was an Associate at ACI Capital Co. Inc., a middle market private equity firm. From 1999 to 2001, she was an Analyst in the Mergers and Acquisitions and Technology, Media & Telecommunications groups at J.P. Morgan & Company.

Ms. Overbay received her bachelor's degree magna cum laude from Princeton University's Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs in 1999, and received her master's degree in business administration from Harvard University in 2005.

Lou A. Losorelli

Mr. Losorelli joined Freeman Spogli in 1995 as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Losorelli graduated from the University of Southern California with a bachelor's degree in business administration in 1976 and received his juris doctor degree in 1979 from the University of Santa Clara. Mr. Losorelli is a member of the State Bar of California and is a Certified Public Accountant.

William C. Johnson

Mr. Castellani is a senior executive with over 30 years of experience in the retail industry. Mr. Castellani has been affiliated with Freeman Spogli since 1987, when Freeman Spogli acquired Tops Friendly Markets. He served as the CEO of Tops Friendly Markets after its sale to Royal Ahold in 1991, and subsequently held several other senior positions within Royal Ahold. In 2000, Freeman Spogli hired Mr. Castellani to be the CEO of Advance Auto Parts, a position he retained until his retirement in 2005. Mr. Castellani is currently the chairman of Advance Auto Parts, a director of HH Gregg, and advises Freeman Spogli on a variety of acquisition opportunities.


William C. Johnson

Mr. Johnson is a senior executive with over 30 years of experience in the direct marketing industry. Mr. Johnson has been affiliated with Freeman Spogli since 1993, serving as Vice Chairman of Brylane Inc., a director of Century Maintenance Supply, Inc., and advising Freeman Spogli on a variety of acquisition opportunities. Mr. Johnson joined Fingerhut Companies, Inc. in 1971 where he rose to the position of Chairman and CEO. In 1990, Mr. Johnson joined Grolier Incorporated as CEO, a title he held until his departure in 1994.

Mr. Johnson received his bachelor's degree in advertising from the University of Kansas in 1962.


Mr. Matthews is a senior executive with over 30 years of experience in the retail industry. Mr. Matthews has been an independent retail consultant for more than 14 years. From 1987 to 1988, Mr. Matthews served as President of Federated Department Stores, Inc. From 1984 to 1987, he served as Vice Chairman of Federated Department Stores, Inc. Mr. Matthews currently serves as a member of the board of directors of Finlay Enterprises, Henry Schein, Progressive Auto Insurance, and Savers.

Mr. Matthews graduated with a bachelor's degree from Princeton University in 1954 and received his master's degree in business administration from Harvard University in 1956.


Mark Pulido

Mr. Pulido is a senior executive with over 25 years of experience in the distribution industry. Mr. Pulido began his career in the wholesale pharmaceutical distribution business with McKesson Drug Co. and later became the President and CEO of two other healthcare companies, Red Line Healthcare Corporation and Sandoz Pharmaceuticals Corporation. In 1996, he returned to McKesson Corporation as President and CEO. Mr. Pulido was the President and CEO of BenefitPoint, Inc. from 2000 to 2001. In 2004, Mr. Pulido began advising Freeman Spogli on acquisition opportunities and currently serves as a director of Bright Now! Dental and as chairman of Quidel Corporation.

Mr. Pulido graduated with a bachelor's degree from the University of Arizona in 1976 and received his master's degree in pharmacy administration from the University of Minnesota in 1977.


Peter Starrett

Mr. Starrett is a senior executive with over 20 years of operating experience in the retail industry. Mr. Starrett has been affiliated with Freeman Spogli since 1998 and previously served as a director of Advance Auto Parts, AFC Enterprises, Brylane, Galyan's Trading Co., and The Pantry. Mr. Starrett is currently a director of several FS portfolio companies, including Bright Now! Dental, HH Gregg, Mattress Giant, PETCO, Ross-Simons, and Sur La Table and advises Freeman Spogli on a variety of acquisition opportunities. From 1990 to 1998, he was the Founder and President of Warner Bros. Studio Stores, where he had responsibility for the global operations of 180 stores in the U.S., Europe, and Asia. Previously, he was Chairman and CEO of The Children's Place, a leading specialty apparel retailer. Earlier in his career, Mr. Starrett served in senior merchandising positions with both Federated and May Department Stores.

Mr. Starrett graduated with a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Denver in 1969 and received his master's degree in business administration from Harvard University in 1975.
